Ironstone Australia are seeking an experienced Engineer to work on a 5:2 roster at our office in Morley with a proven track record in on mine site construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in construction and engineering principles, coupled with the ability to effectively coordinate and communicate with multidisciplinary teams. The Site Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the successful execution of projects, adhering to quality, safety, and timeline standards. Communication between Engineers on site is essential, if you are required to attend site we will offer a 20% uplift.
Technical Expertise:
- Apply engineering principles and construction knowledge to solve complex technical challenges.
- Review and analyse project specifications, and designs for accuracy.
- Provide technical guidance to project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
Team Coordination:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including subcontractors, and regulatory authorities.
- Lead and supervise project teams, ensuring clear communication and efficient resource allocation.
- Foster a collaborative and positive work environment that encourages innovation and problem-solving.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Implement quality control measures to ensure construction standards are met or exceeded.
- Monitor compliance with safety regulations, environmental guidelines, and relevant industry standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify and rectify potential issues.
Maintain accurate project documentation, including progress reports, daily logs, and change orders. Prepare and present project status reports to stakeholders and management.
Problem Solving:
Identify potential risks and challenges and develop mitigation strategies.
Address unexpected issues that may arise during the construction process in a timely manner.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in construction projects on mine sites, demonstrating progressive responsibilities.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, construction techniques, and project management methodologies.
- Familiarity with relevant software tools such as AutoCAD, project management software, and engineering analysis tools.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.
- In-depth knowledge of safety regulations, environmental considerations, and industry standards.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
- Ability to travel to project sites as required.
