Job description

The Role & The Team:

Our OneSKY and Aerospace team are building Australia’s new advanced air traffic management system, redesigning our skies, supporting aerodrome expansion, and taking advantage of the latest technologies to optimise the safe and efficient use of airspace.

As the Project Engineer (System Integration) within the OneSKY & Aerospace program, reporting to the Integration Engineering manager, working with the broader Airservices business you will provide autonomous technical management of engineering tasks, planning and management of technical integration of new service systems and capabilities, Engineering documentation review, Traceability management including the Verification Cross Reference Matrix (VCRM).

In liaison with internal and external stakeholders you will contribute to the development & documentation of technical interface specifications, data flows, and logical and physical architectures in order to meet the OneSKY Program objectives.

The successful applicant will be an adaptable critical thinker and problem solver. You will work closely with the OneSKY Assessment members, Operational Service Advisors, and the Joint Program Team (Including the Department of Defence) to ensure collaborative Integration solutions.

The Person

The successful applicant will have:

  • A four-year, Bachelor of Engineering, or equivalent degree which is assessed/accepted by Engineers Australia.
  • Current registration as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) or equivalent.
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in managing continuous upgrade and technology refresh,
  • Familiarity with project management principles.
  • The ability to work under project deadlines and be able to support Program Manager in the establishment and maintenance of engineering project schedules and cost budgets.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, representation and liaison skills, including the ability to build and maintain productive relationships at all levels with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills to define problem statement, needs, opportunities for improvement and collaborate with development teams.
  • The ability to travel interstate, when required.
  • Post graduate technical qualifications (i.e., Master of Engineering / System Engineering) is desirable.
