Silver Lake's Exploration Department is responsible for the advancement of projects across all tenements surrounding the Mount Monger, Deflector and Rothsay operations, exploring within seven distinct lithological packages. With significant investment committed to exploration activities, you will be tasked with identifying mineral system wide targets, and progressing them into viable project opportunities.
THE ROLE:
This is an incredible opportunity to gain exposure to exploration methodologies from first-pass exploration through to resource definition programs. You will gain experience across a suite of mineralisation styles and deposits, including:
- Narrow, vein hosted high-grade gold (world-class deposit)
- Mafic/ultramafic hosted gold-copper
- Amphibolite facies hosted high grade gold
- Sedimentary iron hosted gold
- Associated supergene mineralisation
Key responsibilities will include:
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship whilst working safely, effectively, and autonomously as part of a small, dynamic team
- Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with contractors, external departments, technical specialists and relevant stakeholders
- Supervision of AC, RC and DD rigs, including safety management, data capture and entry, QAQC and data validation
- Develop and manage prospective targets, including the design, coordination and implementation of mapping, surface sampling, and drill programs
- Analysis and interpretation of drilling results, and the generation of new prospects and targets
- Validation and interrogation of historical data
- Communicate exploration activities at all levels within the organisation
ABOUT YOU
As a passionate Geology professional, you will bring your detail-focus and exceptional work ethic to this role. You are able to work collaboratively in a small, close knit team environment, and thrive on idea-sharing and problem solving.
You will be able to demonstrate:
- A genuine enthusiasm for geology and discovery
- Ability to work as part of a team, mentoring and fostering team building culture
- Minimum 4+ years’ experience within Gold exploration, ideally within Western Australia â other commodities a bonus
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Geology
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail including experience in formal presentation of exploration results and reporting
- Full ‘C’ class manual driver’s licence with 4WD experience well regarded
- Proficiency with Leapfrog, IoGas, LogChief and DataShed
