Job description

54 reasons is Australia’s leading child rights organisation – no ordinary not-for-profit.

Proudly part of the Save the Children Australia Group and global movement, we’re here to make sure that everyone understands their rights. So that children and young people have their rights met and thrive, in all their diversity.

We champion the children, young people, and families we work with. We are inspired by the curiosity and creativity of children and motivated by the love of those who care for them.

With the child’s voice at the centre, we provide quality services to children and their caregivers, advocating with them so that children develop, learn, and are connected, safe and confident. Our people are proudly local, reflective of the communities we serve - in every state and territory, and across regions, remote areas, and capital cities.

Where you come in:

In this full-time position (Maximum term 2 years with possibility of extension), based at Bandicoot Drive Kununurra you’ll provide strategic and operational support to the Regional Manager, to develop and deliver an integrated strategy for children and young people.  Your primary responsibility will be facilitating the Kununurra Night Patrol and Youth Services including the school holiday program.  You'll be part of our East Kimberley team and will report to our Regional Manager.

You will make an impact by:

  • Managing the successful delivery of the Kununurra Night Patrol and Youth services
  • Undertaking project development activities for youth, including submissions for donors, program design, and grant applications
  • Actively seeking opportunities to develop programs and the skills of program staff.
  • Monitoring and evaluating project performance.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective networks and relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Mentoring and support the Youth Workers (casuals)

Does this sound like you?

You're a strategic thinker with the ability to support partners and teammates to achieve their best, and you're motivated to continually strive for better performance. Passionate about championing creative and innovative solutions to transform the lives of children living in disadvantage, you're looking to further develop your community development and project coordination experience across the picturesque East Kimberley region.

This role requires:

  • Degree in Community Development, Education, Youth Work, Social Work or similar
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong networks and partnerships to drive project outcomes.
  • Experience working with Aboriginal communities.
  • Driver's licence (car available for work use)
  • Project coordination skills and experience
