WorkPac are currently seeking an experienced Program Lead to join the Sustaining Capital team based in Perth. The role is offering a Monday to Friday roster with adhoc site travel. This is for a 12-month duration, with the possibility of extension.
The Sustaining Capital PMO delivery teams are responsible for the delivery of site based projects that invest in and support the mining assets that Rio Tinto operates in the Pilbara. We are looking for a Specialist Projects to join the Bulk Earthworks and Civils Program and support the delivery of earthworks projects across the Sustaining Capital PMO portfolio.Key Responsibilities will include:Support program management of the Bulk Earthworks and Civils Program in Iron Ore Sustaining Capital, comprising teams leading projects in studies through to construction and close out.
Reporting to the program lead the role will involve supporting project leads within the program, supporting delivery leaders with the transition of BEC projects into the portfolio and advancing program maturity.
Build close partnerships with a range of internal and external stakeholders including project leads, leadership, subject matter experts, consultants, contractors and support services
Provision of guidance to project teams in the navigation of technical requirements, deliverability, internal and regulatory governance and facilitate the achievement of business objectives across the program which comprises schedule driven and critical projects
Effectively communicate delivery risks to the wider business and facilitate support to manage risks
Integrate with the wider business including Process Engineering and Major Hazards, Maintenance Planning and Engineering, Studies Rehab and Closure and the Mine Technical Services divisions in order to streamline project delivery and enable progression of mining
Advance the program framework including procurement strategies, lessons learnt, document libraries, resourcing, capital planning and reporting
Inform strategic initiatives and change management to drive efficiency and risk reduction for project delivery teamsSkills & Experience Required:Minimum 5 years in the delivery of bulk earthworks and civil projects including construction of roads, tailings dams and associated infrastructure
Experience in construction projects for mining companies in the Pilbara
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Ability to work autonomously, show initiative and be driven to achieve resultsAbout WorkPac
