Your new role
- Development of project budgets, plans and schedules and supporting project documents for multiple capital projects
- Engage and manage external design consultants and engage internal engineers to ensure compliance with company requirements.
- Coordinating plans for the execution of work, including engaging with operations, maintenance & shut teams and internal Project Supervisors typically utilising contractors to execute the work.
- Monitoring and regularly reporting on project progress, ensuring action is taken to address deviations from the project program
- Contributing to a safety orientated culture and ensuring the safety and quality of execution activities
- Depending on the selected candidate, the person should either report directly to the Lead Project Engineer or alternatively work with a Project Engineer to support project delivery.
- Projects will range typically from $200k to $20M. Exact projects to be assigned are determined based on candidate experience and further allocation of the projects within the team. Typically, projects include pump/ piping upgrades, platforms for rotatable spares improvements, management of driver safety systems into LVs, water storage tank replacement, electrical equipment upgrades and building structural upgrades. The projects are typically Brown Fields type sustaining capital projects.
- Typically 5/2/4/3 site-based role. Some flexibility for some Perth-based work may be possible.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have a genuine desire to contribute positively to team objectives, communicate effectively at all levels and a passion to successfully deliver the assigned projects.
You may also have the following preferred:
- Experience and qualifications in Project Management and/or Engineering qualifications, especially electrical, mechanical or Civil/ structural
- Alternatively, limited experience in Project Management but a trade or other background experience that would be relevant to this role.
- Experience across all aspects of the Project lifecycle
- Proficiency in executing capital Engineering Projects, preferably in a mining or similar industry environment
- Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills will be key components of this role as you will work closely with a variety of stakeholders.
- Excellent written communication skills and experience preparing project documentation.
- A proven track record of safety management
- Experience managing the contractual components of project management
- Demonstrated high-level negotiation and influencing skills to liaise and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders
