Project Manager

Zitron Australia Pty Ltd is a growing, ventilation fan manufacturing company, suppling industrial fan units to the mining and road tunnel sector, based in Perth and Sydney.

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Project Manager to join the fast-growing Australian arm of an international group that is a global leader in the field of ventilation for underground mines, road and railway tunnels, and metro systems.

The company is part of a group that operates in over 80 countries on 5 continents. In Australia, the company has supplied the ventilation required for the construction and long-term operation of many of the nation’s major underground transport infrastructure projects.

The Project Manager will form part of a multidisciplinary engineering team and will supervise and coordinate all projects and work closely to contractors at our office in Perth. 

Qualifications & experience

• Bachelor's or higher degree in Engineering
• Mechanical engineering background preferred
• Valid Drivers Licence
• A minimum of 7 years + experience including 3+ years of experience in the management and delivery of multi-discipline (mechanical, structural, electrical) projects.
• Experience with coal projects highly regarded
• Previous experience in turn key projects preferred.
• Previous experience managing projects from both the office and site
• Previous Experience managing projects within the mining or Infrastructure industries
• Excellent leadership and people management skills
• A demonstrable contract, planning, cost control and financial management skills combined with proven change and people management experience;
• Full project exposure
• Have initiative, flexibility and the ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
• High-level problem-solving skills & very innovative in technical solutions
• Developed skills in coordination and meeting deadlines
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Capable of working under pressure and in a multicultural environment.

Tasks & responsibilities:

With recent project wins we are looking for an additional resource with project management experience to work alongside senior management. Tasks include the below:

• Lead and manage complex projects involving personnel from a variety of disciplines
• Close relation with different contractors working on our clients’ projects
• Develop and manage detailed project scopes of work and project capital budgets.
• Estimating, planning, scheduling, and co-ordinating project under your control.
• Problem-solving in field service and support issues with the engineering and production teams.
• Developing in field support procedures as necessary.
• Support procurement team for engaging major subcontractors or components. 
• Managing project cost control.
• Regular travel within Australia on as required basis (kick off meetings, site visits, site workshops and risk assessment, etc).
