The Role
As a Project Manager/Geotechnical Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in the execution of landmark projects. You'll be organising sufficient resources to meet the delivery timetable for the project within the specified budget. You'll also be the main point of contact for the client, ensuring their needs and expectations are satisfied to the agreed standards.
Reporting to the Geotechnical Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Project management - planning, resourcing and controlling projects from end to end, ensuring that work is completed on time and within budget.
- Managing project changes according to clients requirements, reviewing and recording and scope and cost changes.
- Managing project team members - clarifying, communicating and gaining commitment.
- Technical report writing - reporting to the client on project progress, making sure that requirements of the client's brief is met.
- Issuing invoices with reports for ongoing projects.
- Ensuring geotechnical site investigations are undertaken to ascertain general surface and sub-surface conditions - including site investigations, in-situ testing etc.
- Proposal and report writing.
About You
To excel in this role, you'll need:
- A degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or Geology.
- Postgraduate qualification in Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology desirable.
- A current driver's license.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in the field undertaking geotechnical investigations, field work activities and laboratory testing.
- Experience preparing tenders and detailed engineering reports.
- Experience with project financial management
- A high level of technical ability and exceptional problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication at all levels and proven team management skills.
