About Subsidence Advisory NSW
Subsidence Advisory NSW operates for the community in coal mining areas of New South Wales, Australia, and is responsible for administering the Coal Mine Subsidence Compensation Act. Expert advice is provided to property owners, government departments and authorities, local councils, community organisations and industries within Mine Subsidence Districts, and throughout NSW.

Apply your engineering expertise to support subsidence advisory services, including the assessment of claims and development applications, the management of mine subsidence risk on existing and future developments and conducting research on other technology and other innovative initiatives.
To be successful in this role, you must be able to demonstrate at the required capability level:
- A degree in Civil/Mining/Geotechnical Engineering, and relevant work experience in engineering, mining, building or construction
- Ability to interpret and analyse data, identify risk and provide sound geotechnical advice
- Experience in conducting geotechnical risk assessments
- Communicate engineering concepts to a range of diverse internal and external key stakeholders
- A criminal record check is required and a full drivers licence is essential
Desirable experience and capabilities
- Experience providing geotechnical advice regarding mine subsidence risk
- Experience providing strategic advice on engineering controls (mine grouting/earthworks/structural) to mitigate impacts to surface development
