The Project Manager Operations - Outstanding Work is responsible for production elements of Boxer CRV vehicle finalisation at the Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence (MILVEHCOE).
The Project Manager Operations - Outstanding Work will collaborate with onsite and international; development, program, project, production and material teams to ensure the compliant, controlled and on schedule delivery of Boxer vehicles from MILVEHCOE to the Commonwealth of Australian (COA).
As a key member of the Land 400-2 team the Project Manager Operations - Outstanding Work represents the production related interest of the Brisbane based Rheinmetall entity within the international Rheinmetall network.
The general and generic duties of the Project Manager Operations - Outstanding Work include, but are not limited to:-
- Lead cross functional project team operations;
- Manage the development and execution of Production Planning tasks and associated activities as required to complete vehicle finalisation at the MILVEHCOE in accordance with the approved Contract Master Schedule (CMS) or other associated plan such as rework or retrofit schedule;
- Issue, prioritise and monitor work packages for Outstanding Work & vehicle completion;
- Reporting of production status vs project, production and delivery schedules;
- Leading cross functional project & production team meetings, drive focused outcomes and activities;
- Monitor and manage all production vehicle completion project related risks;
- Coordinate and support the development of our local manufacturing capability including transfer of knowledge and technology from Germany to Australia;
- Review Factory Acceptance Test documents/ findings, assign and support the management of missing parts lists;
- Liaise with counterparts in German-based Rheinmetall entities to ensure Outstanding Work tasks are properly documented and communicated in a timely manner;
- Ensure transfer of the necessary production drawings/ working instructions and supporting technical data to RDA Australia to facilitate Outstanding Work;
- Liaise with Europe-based Outstanding Work Managers to understand the prioritization of Outstanding Work tasks to ensure customer acceptance for Boxer vehicles; and
- Fulfil other duties and responsibilities that may be required as determined with your manager from time to time.
About your new team
The Project Manager Operations - Outstanding Work role will join other Project Manager Operations personnel, reporting to the Director Operations Planning and Control. The Project Manager Operations team perform the critical function of translating program requirements to production requirements.

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes:
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Process), Project Management or relevant discipline;
- Proven project management experience;
- Previous experience in a Production / Process Engineering role (preferably Automotive);
- Excellent working knowledge and understanding of complex vehicle Production systems Eg. Quality systems, assembly and testing requirements;
- Demonstrated ability to Influence outcomes across complex global matrix organisations;
- Natural ability to build networks across cultures and across disciplines;
- Natural problem solver, able to troubleshoot production problems with very high attention to detail;
- Experience utilising Root Cause Analysis tools to identify root causes and prevent reoccurrence;
- Advanced MS Office Applications (Word, (Excel - gantt charts, macros & pivot tables), PowerPoint, MS Project, Outlook);
- Ability to travel interstate and internationally when required; and
- Must hold or be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (must hold Australian Citizenship).
