Job description

We are seeking a Project Manager Underground Power to join our team on an 18-month maximum term contract working on either a Full Time or Part Time basis (minimum requirement of 3 days or 22.8 hours).

About the role

Reporting to the Coordinator City Projects, the Project Manager Underground Power will be responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of Underground Power Projects in collaboration with Western Power and their appointed contractor using effective client-side representation, robust project management skills, and comprehensive customer liaison capabilities, including community consultation.

Key duties of the position include:

  • Acting as the Clients Representative for the City and facilitating delivery of the Underground Power Projects;
  • Working closely with Western Power and the appointed contractor to prepare Project Management Plans encompassing stakeholder analysis, communication plans, peer review meetings and risk assessments;
  • Collaborating with Western Power and the contractor to coordinate project activities, ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and environmental standards; and
  • Developing and implementing a comprehensive community consultation plan, ensuring residents and businesses are informed about the project's purpose, timelines, and potential impacts.

About you

To be successful in the role you will be tertiary qualified in Civil Engineering, Project Management or Construction Management and/or have equivalent experience in a similar role.

You will have a thorough knowledge of civil engineering and public infrastructure principles and practices in addition to previous experience in civil engineering or public infrastructure project delivery.

The successful candidate will also have:

  • Thorough knowledge of the requirements to prepare and compile construction documentation;
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing, monitoring, and reporting on project budgets and expenditure;
  • Experience in community / resident liaison; and
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills

Demonstrated experience as a Client-side Representative is highly desirable.

What we offer

The Project Manager Underground Power position offers a full-time annual salary of $112,000 plus superannuation (offer will be pro-rata for part time hours).

Additional details

This position is being offered on a maximum term 18 - month contract and can be fulfilled in either a full time or part time capacity with a minimum of 22.8 hours per week. Work pattern is negotiable.

An extension of up to 2 years may be offered pending successful approval of the third Underground Power project.
