Join Australia’s biggest public transport project and first fully-automated metro rail network, connecting customers and transforming the way Sydney travels. Our 46 state of the art, fully accessible metro stations and precincts are designed to meet the evolving needs of our customers and communities.
With the Northwest line already in operation and works well underway on the City & Southwest, West and Western Sydney Airport lines this is a fantastic opportunity for two experienced Project Managers - Utilities with experience managing utilities infrastructure works such as power, gas, water, telecommunication and communications projects.
The primary purpose of the role is to project manage the delivery of construction activities within a Sydney Metro project, in particular managing utilities and enabling works. It is a key member of the Senior Leadership Team for the works package delivering Sydney Metro’s Integrated Infrastructure Developments.
The role provides management and technical input in the construction of the works and monitors activities to ensure that works are delivered to the required standards and in accordance with safe work methods and environmental practices.
The role will work with tier 1 contractors and utility service providers to deliver complex works in a collaborative and cooperative manner, to support subsequent construction activities and to ensure the timely and effective delivery of the project.
Key responsibilities:
•Provide project management and technical capability to project manage the delivery of utility and enabling works that support rail infrastructure works.
•Manage the schedule of works to optimise safe and timely delivery and minimise disruption delay and inconvenience to stakeholders.
•Contribute to procurement requirements, tender assessments and evaluation to support the management and administration of the contract, approved proposed variations and resolution of contractual disputes
•Role model, promote and actively demonstrate leadership behaviours to deliver organisational outcomes for our customers, our people and communities
•Keeping up-to-date technically and with industry practice and applying new knowledge
•Managing construction activities and contractor performance to ensure safety has been addressed through all phases of the planned delivery activities
•Working in a challenging and complex delivery environment, requiring astuteness in regards to social, stakeholder, environmental and economic issues

About you
•Demonstrated knowledge of the structure of public and private transport industries in NSW, associated legislation and safety standards
•Experience managing / maintaining issues and risks that could impact delivery of a project in relation to the management of key interfaces and stakeholders.
•Experience managing third party Utility stakeholder engagements
