Greater Whitsunday Alliance (GW3) is seeking a Project Officer to work in our Future Strategy team. The Future Strategy team delivers work within the following portfolios and has touchpoints into all regional industry sectors:
- Decabonisation and Diversification
- Digital (infrastructure and skilling)
- Infrastructure, Energy and Water
- Workforce Development.
About the Role
We have one role in the project delivery space and will consider flexibility in the role structure for the right candidates.
This role is ideally suited to a candidate who have the following attributes -
- A curious mind
- Excellent communication skills
- Comfortable with new and emerging thinking and concepts
- Action orientated and outcomes focused
- Passionate about working as part of a team
- Experience in project delivery.
You don’t need to be an expert in economic development, but you do need to be interested in the region’s future economic transformation and the role our region’s businesses and workforces will play in achieving that vision.
This role will support the Workforce Development Project team; and deliver a range of activities, events and initiatives to motivate investment in the Greater Whitsunday region and support businesses, leaders and stakeholders to embrace workforce development initiatives.
Taking a whole-of-region focus, central to these roles will be developing key relationships with stakeholders to manage and support the delivery of activities and initiatives.
This role will be an integral part of the region’s economic transformation and will have significant touch points with other GW3 program activities.
The successful person
You will have demonstrated ability in the use of technology to research, collect and analyse data. Communication will be your sweet spot, and you will have a demonstrated ability to engage meaningfully and efficiently with other team members and external stakeholders. You have good writing skills and can write reports as required. And finally, you will have demonstrated abilities in project delivery including setting priorities, meeting deadlines, and achieving objectives.
