One of our biggest QLD Government Clients in the Education Sector is looking for a Project Officer who has experience working independently and can step into the shoes of the project manager if and when needed, depending on the need of the client.
The Senior Project Officer will be working on a big transformation, a multi-year program of work consisting of five projects to develop the department first ever centralized, unified repository for all key data across the organization. The program will strengthen the department's ability to support staff to make evidence-informed decisions that enable the delivery of quality education and will help in making informed decisions.
It's an initial 12-month contract with another 12-month extension attached along with it.
Your responsibilities will include and will not be limited to:
- Support Senior Project Managers with project management activities.
- Prepare Project and Program Board packs.
- Assist in the planning and delivery of projects that will be introducing new ways of working and have a high level of stakeholder engagement.
- Ensure project financial reporting is accurate and up to date.
- Schedule stakeholder meetings and workshops, and prepare agendas and minutes.
- Maintain RAID (Risks, Actions, Issues and Decisions) registers
You will have:
- Minimum 8 years of Project officer experience.
- Strong stakeholder management and engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate with business staff to help move the assigned deliverables forward.
- Experience working within State Government projects would be well regarded.
- Experience working on Data transformation projects.
- Experience in M365 tool set, including MS Teams and SharePoint.
- Experience in JIRA task management will be well regarded.
