They also promote innovation and application of new technology throughout the energy sector. Key to this role is the Coordinator of Energy’s legislated role as Hazard Management Agency (HMA) for energy supply disruptions in the State of Western Australia.As a Project Officer Emergency Management, your remit will be to undertake a range of Emergency Management activities including intelligence gathering and analysis, monitoring and reporting on Emergency Management policy timeframes and actively participating in Emergency Management planning and operations.The position operates within the relatively small Emergency Management team. This team prides itself on taking a people-first approach to the workplace and aims to provide a friendly, supportive working environment that is committed to empowering its team members to reach their full potential.Day-to-day you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of people, including other internal teams within the Energy Policy group, State and Commonwealth Government agencies and energy sector participants and research groups. Strong relationship management and communication skills will be essential, as well as the ability to assess multiple streams of information and distil them into succinct emergency briefings and situation reports.The typical workday in the Emergency Management team will be dynamic. In addition to providing a daily written briefing on the risk outlook for the electricity, gas and liquid fuels sectors to our executive leadership team, you may be involved in a range of other activities.
