Overview:Full Time, Continuing PositionHEW 7 + 17% Superannuation and Flexible Working ArrangementsBased at the City campusAbout the PositionThe role of Project Officer, First Peoples Workforce Development is responsible for the delivery of assigned tasks and projects through all project phases from planning and design through to handover. This is central to delivering RMIT’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Employment Plan 2024-2026 and Workforce Strategy 2020-2026.The position also is responsible for internal and external reporting and may be asked to present to stakeholders and committees, including the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Employment Committee (ATSIEC)This is an Identified position and being an Australian Aboriginal and/ or Torres Strait Islander is considered a ‘genuine occupational qualification’ in accordance with sub-s 26(3) and s 28 of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010. The successful applicant is required to provide confirmation of their Australian Aboriginal and/ or Torres Strait Islander heritage.To be successful in this position, you’ll have:A lived experience or a highly developed understanding of the systemic barriers and challenges experienced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities specifically living within Victoria with a strong knowledge and understanding of the issues relating to First Peoples employment.Demonstrated high level ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples.Demonstrated experience in implementing projects and professional development initiatives.Ability to meet deadlines, effectively manage varying workloads and respond to changing priorities as required.Demonstrated high level of written and verbal communication skills.Confidently and effectively work with colleagues, team leaders, and industry partners.Experience in any of the following areas marketing, communications, human resources, or social media.Please Note: Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children and National Police Check.About the People FunctionThe People function comprises a team of strategic and operational HR professionals dedicated to delivering client-focused, proactive, and effective solutions for all RMIT employees.
