We are working closely with a large State Government, with offices located close to Elizabeth Quay. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Officer to support the project Manager and project team.
Your new role
The project team requires the assistance of an experienced Project Officer, to work 3 days per week for the duration of the preparation of a project (until the end of June 2024). The project support office requires government experience and will undertake a range of project research, analysis, reporting, implementation and administrative activities to support the development and delivery of projects, in line with established project plans (under development) and objectives. The
Key duties will include:
- Provide project and operational support, including monitoring and reporting on project plans, milestones and deliverables, to ensure time, cost and quality indicators are in line with approved project plans.
- Update and collate documentation and records regarding relevant issues, policies and practices ensuring the delivery of projects complies with agreed project management methodology.
- Undertake research and analysis in assigned project areas and contribute to the preparation of project briefs to support informed decision-making and planning.
- Assist the project team to complete tasks and implement project plans to ensure agreed outcomes are achieved.
- Communicate with relevant stakeholders to provide updates regarding project status and implementation issues
- Provide a range of secretariat and administrative services, including coordinating committee meetings and preparing papers, ministerial correspondence and general correspondence to support project management delivery
- Consult across government, with industry, within the department, community and other stakeholders
- Represents the project team and department in discussions with industry representatives, government agencies, community and other stakeholders
- Assist in analysis and research on project proposals; undertakes investigations to identify infrastructure, project history or legislative impacts to support the project; and contributes to the development of implementation plans.
- Prepare draft Ministerial correspondence, briefing notes, memos, presentations, website content, briefs, and emails, updates data, minuting meetings and maintains records
- Undertakes other duties as required.
What you'll need to succeed
- Previous Government experience, with similar duties & responsibilities is essential.
- A police clearance, dated within the past 3 months
