Founded by the Harry Perkins Institute, Linear Clinical Research is at the forefront of human breakthroughs, contributing to scientific discovery and advancement through world-leading clinical human trials and medical research. Our state-of-the-art Advanced Clinical Trials Centre opened in early 2024 at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and is home to our Cancer Trials Unit (CTU) and is the first of its kind facility in Australia dedicated to bringing novel therapies through clinical trials to the cancer patients of WA. 

We are now looking for a high performing and passionate Project Operations Lead to join the CTU and help us deliver our purpose of improving health and access to innovative medical therapies by conducting world class clinical trials.

Job Description

Your Role in our Future 
In this fast paced, highly collaborative role, you will be responsible for providing leadership and management support to the wider Project Operations team with particular emphasis on teamwork, quality, timelines, budget, metrics and compliance. Reporting to and working closely with the Head, Project Operations, you will also have the opportunity to apply your project management skills to ensure the planning and delivery of a range of clinical trials across the CTU portfolio in line with business, sponsor and regulatory requirements.

A full list of responsibilities can be found in the job description however some of your duties will include;

  • Work collaboratively with other departments to develop study timelines which drives effective and efficient planning and utilisation of clinic beds and resources. 
  • Ensure targets around recruitment and screening of participants are achieved and act as the main point of escalation for all recruitment activities. 
  • Track project costs and maintain an awareness of financial performance across clinical trials through reporting and monitoring financial targets.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships participants, patients, sponsors, monitors and other external stakeholders.

Conveniently located at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, this role will be offered on a full-time basis for 12-months in the first instance with the high possibility of extension.

Desired Skills and Experience

Your Experience

The successful applicant will have a Tertiary qualification in a related field (Science, Health or Project Management) along demonstrated project management skills and proven experience delivering clinical trial studies.

The key to your success will be your demonstrated experience in the following:

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach and mentor staff to ensure outcomes are delivered and objectives met.
  • Extensive knowledge of relevant clinical trial standards, procedures and regulations including ICH GCP.
  • Strong understanding and application of financial management principles and practices; analytical skills to forecast and evaluate expenditure and costs.
  • Proven ability to work under multiple, competing deadlines and delegate effectively.

This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, MRSA, TB and Pertussis.  Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
