AWB Co. is one of WA's fastest growing all trades companies, operating throughout Perth and Adelaide. We are registered builders, licensed electrical, plumbing and gas fitting contractors. Based out of Burswood, we operate throughout the Perth metro area.
Due to sustained growth, AWB Co is looking for an experienced Project Planner/Estimator to join our results-driven and family friendly team in Burswood. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, this position will serve as a vital link between the pre-contracts and the project delivery teams. The ideal candidate will possess excellent negotiation, communication, contract management, and administration abilities, along with prior experience in estimating and/or site supervision.
About the role:
- Assist in negotiating new contracts and coordinate procurement negotiations with subcontractors and suppliers, fostering collaborative and mutually beneficial agreements.
- Collaborate with the estimators and internal project supervisors to determine project requirements
- Work closely with the Contract Admin to issue all WO’s and PO’s
- Read and assess detailed plans, drawings, specifications and interpret data
- Quantity take-offs and preparation of construction budgets
- Preparation of necessary project schedules and project management plans
- Liaise and coordinate to establish close contacts with contractors
- Prepare handover documentation to the appointed project supervisor
- Cost allocation, preparation of Job Cost Reports, and evaluation
- Monitoring and controlling costs and timelines
- Tracking and maintaining project documentation, such as permits, contracts, and invoices
About you:
- Previous experience in an Estimating, Contracts Administrator or Scheduling position ideally within the commercial Building and construction sector.
- Previous site supervisory experience is desirable
- Excellent negotiation, communication, contract management and administration skills
- An excellent understanding of drawings and technical specifications
- Thorough understanding of building codes and Australian standards
- Solid understanding of the construction process and construction techniques
- Experience with simPRO job management software is preferred
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as individually in a professional manner
