Job description

The Role
An exciting opportunity is available in the role of Project SHEQ Coordinator within the Transperth Train Operations (TTO) division. This role is to assist with monitoring and reviewing safety and health, including workplace safety health and rail safety requirements, for the METRONET Railcar Procurement Project. You will conduct regular site inspections, contractor audits and reports on contractor compliance to safety requirements and specifications, with a focus towards public safety and health, construction safety, traffic and rail safety.
Who we are looking for
The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience working within a construction environment and/or Rollingstock operations environment (or similar)
  • Experience in the monitoring and reviewing of safety systems in a construction and/or rail environment
  • Sound knowledge of Safeworking rules and procedures and an understanding of rail operations
  • Sound understanding of workplace safety and health and rail safety issues and trends
  • Practical working knowledge and understanding of safety management systems and knowledge of current Rail Safety Legislation/Standards including Railway Industry Safety and Standards Board (RISSB)
  • Qualification in a relevant Safety competency/s
This is a fixed term appointment up to 31 December 2024 with possible extension and/or permanency.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur for up to 12 months.
