WorkPac are seeking Project Specialist to work with our local council based in Logan, QLD. This position is a Monday to Friday Roster for an initial 6 month duration, potential for extension. This role supports the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO) by providing specialist technical project management expertise with timely analysis, coordination, monitoring and creation of project materials for the EPMO. Working with the other project team members, the Project Specialist is critical to enable the efficient and effective deliver projects across the organisation and the City of Logan.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Business Analysis and Technical Advisory - Work with and contribute to the development of frameworks, structures and evolution of capabilities to support the delivery of projects. Conduct requirements and options analysis, solution feasibility evaluation, and contribute to the overall architecture and design of business solutions. Review and analyse technical requirements from the business to ensure accuracy and completeness in technical detail and compliance.
Project Delivery Enablement - Provide research, coordination and quality assurance across each stage of the project lifecycle. Focus on lessons learnt to continually improve the services the EPMO offers. Provide timely and efficient coordination and dissemination of project materials such as managing and maintaining. project briefs, project scheduling, action logs, budgets, and project performance monitoring. Provide data and information to support the preparation of project plans.
Stakeholder Management - Apply effective and engaging interpersonal skills to ensure complex concepts are communicated in plain language. Build collaborative and respectful relationships with key project partners and stakeholders. Develop, implement and manage a range of appropriate communication channels to ensure regular and consistent messaging is delivered to stakeholders. Ensure all correspondence and documentation produced is properly referenced and captured for proper record keeping requirements and to ensure ease of recovery.
Skills and Experience:
Considerable experience delivering large programs of work / project portfolios.
Knowledge of the breadth and complexity of project / program / portfolio management (P3M) / within an EPMO.
Experience within a public sector environment, preferably within a local council (highly regarded).
Time management skills, self-motivation with the ability to remain innovative under pressure.
Ability to prioritise while working to demanding deadlines.
Research skills and a demonstrated ability to analyse qualitative and quantitative data.
Sound written and verbal communication skills to write and / or interpret business cases, reports and other documentation.
Sound problem-solving skills in a specialist / technical environment.
Tertiary qualification in relevant fields such as business management, project management, information management, engineering, human services or similar (e.g. Bachelor of Business).
Credentials and / or certification in relevant fields such as change management, agile methodology (e.g. PROSCI, Agile fundamentals, ITIL).
Membership (or ability to attain) with relevant industry association or peak body (e.g. Project Management Institute, Change Management Institute, Asset Management Council, CPA).
C class driver's license.
