Job description

Our client is seeking an experienced Project Stakeholder Manager for a 12-month temporary casual contract based in Bentley, WA.  
 
Rate: Candidates will be submitted at the rate of their choosing   
Hours: Full-time – 37.5 hours per week   
Location: Bentley, WA 
Duration: 12-month temporary casual contract   
 
KEY ACTIVITIES 
Planning and Strategy 
Develop and deliver Project Stakeholder plan to meet whole-of-project objectives. 
On behalf of the Project, lead the planning, implementation and management of engagement activities with government agencies at both a strategic and practical level, both at state and local government levels. 
Develop, plan, implement and evaluate engagement strategies in line with industry best practice to build awareness, consult with key government and other relevant stakeholders and further improve the Project’s visibility, brand and likelihood of success.  
Government Relations 
Engage with government stakeholders to ensure effective working relationships.  
Provide strategic advice to the project Steering Committee and senior management team, ensuring they are well briefed on contentious issues and hot topics.  
Monitor Parliament, media and other avenues to provide timely advice to key internal stakeholders. 
Develop briefing materials and background information as required for project members for government meetings.  
Attend meetings, undertake actions, and update Project team as appropriate.  
Coordinate advice and responses to requests from government for advice and information.  
Stakeholder Engagement 
Develop, implement, and coordinate the Project’s stakeholder engagement strategy. 
Provide strategic advice to the Steering Committee and senior management team on external corporate positioning and stakeholder engagement.  
Identify, plan, and coordinate appearances at speaking opportunities, including developing briefing material, corporate presentations, and speaking points for members of the Steering committee and senior management team. 
Identify and provide advice on external opportunities to grow project visibility and reputation.  
Be a key point of contact/facilitator for engagement with peak industry and other corporate bodies.  
Leadership  
Work collaboratively and provide guidance/support to the relevant project land and heritage stakeholder leads, both within Horizon Power and the customer as required. 
 
REQUIREMENTS 
Education/qualifications 
Degree of tertiary qualifications in Politics, Public Policy, Law, Economics or related discipline is mandatory.   
 
KNOWLEDGE 
Essential
Knowledge of the State Government budget and Cabinet processes. 
Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement management. 
Demonstrated experience in coordinating and developing material for corporate events. 
Demonstrated experience in project development.  
Desired
Previous experience in relation to transmission or other linear infrastructure projects, ideally in the Pilbara region.  
 
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE 
Essential
Experience in Ministerial offices, stakeholder management and/or public relations. 
Extensive experienced in monitoring and coordinating responses to issues at senior executive level. 
Extensive experience in developing proactive relationships with Government officials and key stakeholders.
