About the Role

The Project Delivery branch takes a lead role in community and councillor coordination and ensuring value for money outcomes in all facets of project delivery.

The Project Superintendent provides high level professional project superintendency, supervision and team leadership services for the delivery of Council’s civil infrastructure capital work projects.

  • Undertake inspections and supervision of construction and / or maintenance of assigned council capital works civil infrastructure projects.
  • Provide high level customer service outcomes across Council’s civil infrastructure capital work projects.
  • Manage the performance of contractors, suppliers and consultants including monitoring and reviewing the quality of product, service delivery and workmanship to ensure compliance with contractual documents, quality assurance systems, specifications, industry best practice and agreed cost and time limits.
  • Analyse risks associated with project delivery and incorporate appropriate risk mitigation practices within the delivery of civil infrastructure projects.

About you

As a Project Superintendent you will have well developed organisational and decision-making skills, including demonstrated achievement in effective planning, organising and co-ordination of diverse and complex tasks and projects in a rapidly changing environment.

You will possess strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively to solve problems, as well as well-developed analytical and numeracy skills.

You will have comprehensive knowledge of the structure, roles and function of Local Government and other State and Federal Government Departments that impact on Local Government.

As a requirement of this role, you will have a Certificate IV in Construction and/or demonstrated relevant experience, qualifications and knowledge in construction and maintenance of council infrastructure including the application of contemporary principles, practices and methods.

Pre-Employment Medical Required?

Essential to your success is physical agility and the level of fitness, strength and dexterity to carry out labouring and frequent heavy lifting & bending. As such, appointment to this position is subject to completion of a pre-employment medical assessment.
