This role is a contract role to 31 March 2026 and location to be negotiated

As our Project Support Officer, you’ll play a pivotal role in providing support to project managers and project teams in the planning, coordination and control of organisational projects within our corporate services team.

Your passion for project management will serve as a link between our project management framework and project teams, ensuring that project management standards and methodologies are consistently applied.  You will support the execution of project tasks and management of risks through effective communication with stakeholders.

By supporting our team members in applying project management practices, you will champion a culture of continuous learning and development whilst directly contributing to Disaster Relief Australia's mission

Key accountabilities

  • Contribute to the development, implementation and maintenance of project frameworks, tools and processes.
  • Mentor and upskill team members in project management practices and resources to foster a culture of continuous learning and development.
  • Ensure compliance with project management standards and frameworks.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of project plans and schedules.
  • Assist in financial management of projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and tracking of project expenditures.
  • Coordinate and monitor project milestones and deliverables to support successful project execution.
  • Coordinate project activities and ensure all project phases are documented.
  • Prepare and present regular updates and progress reports to stakeholders.
  • Manage risks and issues and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Facilitate effective communication among team members and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of project management processes through the collection and analysis of project data.
  • Act as a project manager when necessary, overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of projects. This includes managing resources, timelines and project budgets, ensuring that all project objectives are met.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Program Manager or Chief Financial Officer to support DRA’s strategic objectives.
