About the Branch and Program
The Road Construction & Maintenance Branch is where key road and drainage services are delivered directly to the Logan City community. The branch is focused on delivering excellent customer service in a timely manner and to a high quality. Our branch is made up of 2 programs ‘Road Maintenance’ and ‘Road Construction’.
The Road Maintenance Program has the task of managing and delivering services that keep our road, pathway and drainage networks to a standard expected by our community. We undertake a large range of services including the maintenance of sealed and gravel roads, open drains, stormwater assets, footpath and pathways, roadside litter collection, linemarking, road furniture and street sweeping. In delivering these services, workplace health and safety is our highest priority. The program has a number of key areas to support and guide the delivery of services which include proactive maintenance, safety and technical services.
About the Role
The Project Team Leader will be responsible for supervising and leading the Maintenance crews with day-to-day operations of large complex road maintenance projects. In this Team Leader position, you will provide a high level of interpersonal skills in dealing with the public, suppliers of goods and services and other Council departments.
You will have a strong knowledge within Civil Construction with the ability to demonstrate delivering road and daring construction and rehabilitation projects including having experience in road construction, pipe laying and concreting methods, processes and materials. Experience in setting up projects, in particular traffic management and knowledge of plant operations and capabilities.
The role will also see you assist and present pre starters and tool box talks.

- Current C Class Drivers Licence
- General Safety Induction (White Card)
- Willing to undergo a Fitness Capacity Assessment/ Medical
- Leadership & coordination skills, with the ability to stimulate a high level of performance & foster teamwork
- Experience in a wide range of Labouring activities relating to Civil Construction is highly desirable
- Thorough understanding of Health and Safety risks and hazards monitoring practices
- Sound Computer skills required with experience in GIS highly regarded
- Truck License and tickets for various plant and equipment (desirable)
- First Aid Certificate (desirable)
- Certificate 3 in Civil Construction (desirable)
