Singleton Neighbourhood Centre Inc is a well-respected community organisation providing information, referral and support to the residents of the Singleton LGA. The centre has operated for over 49 years and provides a range of innovative services to the community with the aims of inspiring lifelong learning and creating connectedness and a sense of place to enhance individual and community wellbeing.
The Singleton Neighbourhood Centre are currently looking to recruit for the position of Project Worker to oversee the operations of the OpenDoor@SNC. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a well-established organisation to make positive changes to the lives of the Singleton community. The SNC are looking for someone who is driven, enthusiastic and passionate to make a difference in the local community.
Reporting to the SNC Manager, the Project Worker OpenDoor@SNC will have overall responsibility for all aspects of operation of the OpenDoor@SNC. The role will entail;
- Developing and implementing plans to coordinate day to day activities within the OpenDoor@SNC.
- Rostering of volunteers, developing menus and ensuring safe food handling requirements are met.
- Communicating plans with all relevant personnel, including volunteers.
- Planning and coordination of resources.
- Maintaining good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Contributing positively and effectively at meetings.
- Completing centre and funding reporting requirements.
- Identifying and communicating risks associated with health and safety, environmental impacts; and oversee remediation.
- Ensuring a safe environment for guests, staff, and volunteers.
- Being non-judgmental and show empathy to all people using the centre.
- Operating within allocated budgets.
- Understanding and respecting the linguistic and cultural diversity of the people we support and within our centre and supporting agencies.
- Writing and distributing a weekly newsletter to volunteers.
- Providing regular OpenDoor updates for social media.
Qualifications/Skills and Experience
- Certificate III in Social Services or equivalent
- Senior First Aid Certificate
- Ability to work in a small team with minimal supervision
- Basic computer literacy
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Event or project management experience adventageous
- Current drivers licence
- Food Safety Supervisor or willing to obtain
- Knowledge of local government area including supporting agencies and programs available, highly desirable.
The role will be 30 hours per week, 8am-4pm Monday to Thursday.
You will be required to have a current paid WWCC & Police Check.
