THE ROLE

TSA is seeking a suitable Protection and Commissioning specialist with relevant field experience to compliment it’s team of technical specialists. This role is ideal for someone looking for continual professional development, with opportunity to expand their technical capabilities and contribute through the entire lifecycle of projects, from protection system functional design, IED configuration development, secondary systems integration and onsite primary & secondary systems commissioning. 

As a key technical specialist, you’ll dive deep into exciting challenges on an array of projects across a diverse range of sites, from renewable and thermal energy generation to transmission and industrial power applications.

Your capability, attitude and lifestyle should encompass:

• Primary and secondary systems testing experience.
• Experience using Omicron test equipment.
• Familiarity with varied OEMs protection relays and interface software.
• Demonstrated ability to problem solve and fault find in complex environments.
• Ability to travel. We consider our principle responsibility as the technical expert to ensure all requirements have been met to enable and oversee the day of energisation.

Educational & Training Requirements

Required:

• Electrical Supervisors Licence
• Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering
• Experience with protection relay configuration and testing
• Experience with high voltage primary plant and equipment
• Drivers license
• LVR/CPR

Highly Regarded:

• Engineering Degree
• Secondary Systems Design
• Electrical substation commissioning
• Experience with secondary systems integration utilising varied communications protocols
• Experience developing and/or testing protection schemes utilising IEC61850 functionality
• Experience in fault studies / protection system modelling
