Psychiatric Emergency Care Team Manager

About the opportunity

Latrobe Regional Health (LRH) is the main provider of Mental Health services across the Gippsland region.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced mental health professional join our mental health services team to lead our Psychiatric Emergency Care Team.

Our Psychiatric Emergency Care Team (PECT) respond to requests for urgent assistance (assessment and acute treatment) from members of the public, service providers or other stakeholders who present to an Emergency Department, admitted to a LRH Unit and those activated by the MHaPR program.

About the role

The PECT Manager shall provide clinical leadership, operational management, monitoring and evaluation of clinical mental health services to consumers and carers and lead the development of the agreed models of care within PECT.

The position has responsibility for the operational and clinical management of the PECT team including budgets, quality and safety/performance targets and key performance indicators.

About you

You will have a passion for Mental Health, a desire to make a real difference and be a skilled people leader with experience in effectively leading teams.

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Have a qualification in either Nursing (with a post graduate qualification in mental health), Social Work, Psychology or Occupational therapy, holding current relevant registration
  • Advanced clinical skills
  • Demonstrated experience in senior leadership roles
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and develop staff
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing innovative and workable solutions in a sensitive and complex service environment
  • Highly developed written and interpersonal communication skills together with the ability to liaise, consult and negotiate effectively within the health/community service sector
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of all relevant legislation
