The Mental Health and Wellbeing Services team are committed to supporting staff wellbeing in a dynamic, busy environment and support professional development through partnerships with external training providers.
To be successful for this role you will have:
- Current registration as an Enrolled Nurse with AHPRA.
- Completed a Diploma in nursing and / or medication endorsed (s/c, IM, enteral, topical routes) in addition to base qualification
- A minimum of 2 years nursing experience, including 12 months Mental Health experience in a Mental Health clinical setting
- Demonstrated understanding of working with Mental Health consumers, including appropriate supports, therapeutic engagement, assessment and evidence based interventions
- Sound knowledge of the Mental Health Act 2014
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work a 7 day a week rotating roster (AM, PM & Nights)
- Possess excellent clinical skills

The Sunshine Mental Health and Wellbeing Centre (SMHWC) has been designed to provide consumers, families, carers and staff with a contemporary and safe environment to deliver high quality, evidence based acute Mental Health care, treatment and support.
The SMHWC is currently looking for Psychiatric Enrolled Nurses (PENs) to join Unit 2 & Unit 3 located at Sunshine Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity for PEN’s be involved in the operationalisation of these two units within a newly established state of the art facility.
Unit 2 & Unit 3 consist of two 26- bed units with 3 care areas including an Intensive Care Area, Medium Care Area and the General Care Area.
The PEN will be an integral member of this multidisciplinary team and will help support leadership in the effective running of the inpatient unit.

Western Inpatient Psychiatric Unit - Footscray Hospital

The Western Inpatient Psychiatric Unit (WIPU) are looking for Psychiatric Enrolled Nurses (PENs) who are passionate about women’s health. The new WIPU is a dedicated women’s-only adult acute inpatient unit based at Footscray, offering women who are experiencing severe mental ill health a trauma-informed and recovery-focused experience to care.
Our PENs within the WIPU work as part of the multidisciplinary team and work in our intensive care and general care areas of the wards, as well as group facilitation and are provided the opportunity for professional development and growth.
