In January 2024 Hirondelle Private Hospital will open as iMH's second private mental health hospital. Hirondelle Private Hospital will provide integrated mental health services to the Northern Sydney community. With 45 mental health beds, the team of psychiatrists, medical, nursing and allied health professionals will provide a wide range of treatments across inpatient, outpatient and community settings through flexible care pathways.

About the Role
We are looking for someone with a demonstrated commitment to professional development and a passion for the delivery of exceptional mental healthcare to a diverse range of clients. As a psychologist for Hirondelle Private Hospital, your role will involve providing exceptional quality psychological services to patients, optimising psychosocial outcomes and facilitating recovery from mental illness as part of a supportive and diverse multi-disciplinary team.
Duties include:
- Facilitating group therapy programs including CBT, DBT and ACT, trauma-focused and addictions-focused groups
- Patient therapy administration
- Participation in staff and patient education
- Supporting patients with admission and discharge
- Day Program assistance
Essential Criteria:
- A Bachelor’s Degree (major Psychology) from a recognised tertiary institution.
- Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA).
- Demonstrated experience in, and ability to provide high quality care for individuals with mental health problems from initial interview to case formulation, diagnosis, and therapeutic management.
- Experience in the provision of group and individual therapy including demonstrated ability to develop, implement, facilitate and evaluate group therapy programs.
- Excellent communication and clinical skills with an aptitude to remain calm, empathetic and professional in highly stressful or emotional situations.
- Possess extensive knowledge or the ability to gain knowledge rapidly relevant to individual patients, family or carers needs, including familiarity with a variety of therapeutic interventions.
- Proficient with basic computer programs and processes such as Microsoft Suite.
Desirable criteria:
- Experience with webPAS.
- Previous experience working in a private hospital setting.
