Psychologist

Sonder is creating a new model for workplace health services which combines technology, on-site incident response, evidence based triage and a virtual mental health clinic designed around treatment goals, not session numbers. Our multidisciplinary team includes Clinical and Registered Psychologists, Counselors, Social Workers, Registered Nurses, on-call GPs and support coordinators, supported by a governance and leadership team with experience in acute care, community services and organisational well-being. 

The role

Reporting into the Psychology Team Manager, you will be working with a supportive team providing psychological assessment and treatment to Sonder members in a virtual clinic setting. You’ll be working towards session, quality and outcome goals while assisting members at various points in their mental health journey and across a variety of presentations including anxiety, mood disorders, self harm, suicidal ideation, relationship issues, distress regarding workplace or university demands, interpersonal conflict, trauma, sexuality and gender identity. 

You'll provide 5 sessions per day with flexibility in managing your diary. Ideally the role is a permanent,full time role (38 hours per week), however we would consider part-time hours for the right applicants (Minimum 3 days per week) with a salary package including all employment benefits and in-house authorised supervision.

What you’ll be doing

• Delivering evidence based psychological assessment, clinical formulation, treatment planning and delivery in multiple evidence-based therapeutic modalities 
• Using a collaborative person-centered approach to identifying achievable  treatment goals with our members
• Using a variety of clinical screening tools to assist in the assessment, progression and outcome measurement of clinical services delivered
• Providing guidance and advice to Sonder Customers regarding the management of mental health and wellbeing in the workplace
• Contributing your expertise to a multi-disciplinary team committed to health outcomes
• Working within a stepped care model which supports you to work within and grow your professional boundaries
• Maintaining a professional development plan regarding your practise as a psychologist 

Who are we looking for?

The ideal candidate is someone passionate about improving access to mental health care, who wants to practice and extend their professional skills in a supported environment and enjoys a balance of providing virtual psychological care and office based collaboration in a multi-disciplinary team. Above all you will value bringing and adapting psychological intervention which focuses on client led goals to a young innovative business evolving at a fast pace.

To be successful in this role, you may ideally have at least 3 years’ experience delivering psychological services which have included:

• Working in a virtual clinic platform
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary health teams and non clinical stakeholder
• Well structured & collaborative approach to person centered and recovery focused models of assessment, formulation, treatment planning and goal setting
• A variety of presentations, symptom experiences and diagnostic clusters across a diverse intersectional patient cohort
• Exposure to workplace health & well-being 
• Unrestricted Registration with AHPRA as a Psychologist
