About the Role

We are pleased to announce that Parkerville’s Children and Youth Care third Child, Youth and Family Centre will open in early July 2024, in Rockingham. Co-located at this site will be the Multi-agency Investigation Support Team (MIST), a partnership between Parkerville Specialist Therapeutic Services and the WAPOL Child Abuse Squad.

This innovative program is delivered from a trauma-informed building specifically designed to provide a safe space for children and young people impacted by child sexual abuse.

As a result of this growth, multiple exciting opportunities have arisen to join this dedicated team, which provides specialist child interviews, therapeutic support and psychological interventions to help reduce the traumatic impact of child sexual abuse for children young people and their families.

We are seeking to recruit for the following positions:

  • Child and Family Advocate (SCHADS level 4.1-4.4 | $41.52 - $44.68) 38 hours per week
  • Children’s Counsellor (SCHADS level 4.1-4.4 | $41.52 - $44.68) 30.4 hours per week or
  • Registered Psychologist (HPPS level 2.1) 30.4 hours per week

To be successful, you will be skilled in supporting children, young people and their families impacted by trauma. You will have the ability to apply a trauma-informed response to working with the whole family and understand the impact of child sexual abuse on children, young people and their families. You’ll be dedicated to improving your skills in working therapeutically with children and young people impacted by child sexual abuse.
