The Division of Allied Health & Rehabilitation are looking for an Advanced Clinical Psychologist to join their Rehabilitation Engagement & Safety Team (REST). This unit provides specialised clinical and consultancy services within the Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) - Spinal Injury Unit and Rehabilitation service.

About the Role
The purpose of this position is to provide specialised clinical and consultancy services within the Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) – Spinal Injury Unit (SIU) and Rehabilitation service. The position delivers advanced complex inpatient and carer/family distress and behavioural reactivity prevention and interventions, as well as multi-professional staff and system consultancy services to stakeholders/consumers within the Spinal Injury Unit and Rehabilitation Service to achieve excellence in patient care, education and research.
This includes:
- Demonstrating Advanced Clinical skills in the area of Psychology.
- Providing service wide Psychology clinical and professional advice on specialised clinical areas and service delivery models in the area of preventing and responding to patient/carer/family distress and behavioural reactivity. This includes via direct patient care, staff consultancy, and multi-professional education using evidence-based, evaluated processes. The role also provides advanced systems engagement and communication with relevant PAH & Metro South working groups and committees, including document and resource development and/or reviews.
- Providing professional leadership and responsibility for development of REST (Rehabilitation Engagement & Safety Team) clinical practices, procedures and protocols
- Applying advanced level independent professional judgment regarding the assessment and treatment planning of complex patients.
- Providing high quality clinical supervision to rehabilitation health professionals and allied health assistants to support effective and efficient service delivery of care.
- Leading innovative quality/service improvement activities and contribute to research of significant scope and clinical importance to rehabilitation and/or psychology, seeking outcomes that influence standards of clinical practice and the delivery of services to meet local needs and influence broader organisational goals including publishing/presenting relevant work broadly.
