St Mark's employs more than 250 full and part-time teachers, supported by education assistants, administrative, grounds and maintenance staff. Teaching staff salaries are paid under the Anglican Schools Commission Incorporated Western Australian Agreement 2019, as approved by the Fair Work Commission, in accordance with training and experience. Non-teaching staff are employed under appropriate Award conditions to which over Award payments are applied.

About the Role
An opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified psychologist or social worker to join the Wellbeing Team commencing in June 2024 for 12 months parental leave cover. The Wellbeing Team at St Mark’s consists of Psychologists, a Social Worker and an Administration Assistant and they are part of the school’s Pastoral Care Team. This role is term time only and is 0.6 FTE to 0.8 FTE, negotiable.
Experienced in implementing both individual and group support interventions, the successful candidate will provide a proactive service that supports the psychological, emotional, social, and learning needs of St Mark’s students. You will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team and the successful candidate will enact a holistic approach to wellbeing, focusing on both prevention and early intervention. Experience working with mental health issues faced by children and young people is preferred.
About You
- Experience with mental health assessment and the development of evidence based preventative wellbeing approaches.
- Experience working within school communities with young people and their families and/or demonstrated ability to work with young people and their families in a mental health setting.
- Experience in providing evidence-based interventions for individuals and groups, with an emphasis on academic, social, and emotional difficulties.
- The ability to establish collegial professional relationships and contribute to a dynamic team environment.
- Well-developed written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated initiative to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- You will hold a current registration as a health professional with AHPRA (or other health professional body e.g., Association for Social Workers) for the past 1-3 years.
This role commences in June 2024.
