Mental Health Division
The newly developed Mental Health Division within Northern Health encompasses Adult Mental Health Services and Older Adults Mental Health Services and offers a range of community and inpatient based services across North West and Northern Areas. We are the third largest public mental health service in the Victoria and looking to grow our professional workforce.

The opportunity:
Multiple opportunities (FT or PT) exist for enthusiastic senior psychologists to join the Psychology Education Team within Northern Health, mental health division. These are new roles that have been implemented within mental health services to support our early career psychologists and postgraduate psychology students, develop their clinical skills and knowledge through learning and practice within positive supportive environment.
This role requires an enthusiastic psychologist who brings experience in working within public mental health to work with the Principal Psychology Educator in planning, developing and implementing supervision, training, education and professional development of psychologists at Northern Health. As part of the psychology education team there will be the opportunity to oversee Post Graduate Student Placements, prequalification program, Psychology Registrar Program. The team will ensure that psychology education programs are designed, implemented, and evaluated so the service capability of the psychology profession at Northern Health is enhanced and excellent patient care is provided. There will be opportunities to work collaboratively on the design and implementation of education initiatives to the broader mental health workforce.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- 8 or more years of clinical experience and good working knowledge of public mental health and good working knowledge of the diverse range of mental health disorders and current best clinical practice to support consumer ‘s recovery
- Current AHPRA registration under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (Victoria) Act 2009 & Psychology Board Approved Clinical supervisor.
- Passionate and Proven ability to design, develop and implement training and education for psychologists across the workforce and stages of career from early career to advanced.
- Proven ability to provide clinical supervision, knowledge of the competencies that underpin registration requirements provisional psychologists, psychology registrars and endorsed psychologists.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with other disciplines and LEW.
