P/T Music Director

We dream of seeing more people in church worshiping Jesus on Sunday than at the pub next door on a Saturday night.Position PurposeVine Church is seeking to employ a Music Director to grow our music ministry so that hearts and minds are engaged in thanksgiving of God.Main Responsibilities

• Culture: Build a Godward culture in all that we do so that people are glorifying God and delighting in Him.
• Music Team: Lead, develop and set direction for the Music Team so that it is leading the church in theologically deep and artistically impactful songs, and building the distinctive Vine Church sound (simple, authentic, full of heart, truthful, and contextually appropriate).
• Production Team: Lead, develop and set direction for the Production Team so that Sunday gatherings are produced and broadcast at a consistent standard of God-honouring excellence. This includes lighting, staging, audio, visual, and online streaming.
• Systems: Oversee the processes and systems that facilitate the effective operation of the Music and Production Team.
• Other responsibilities as required in working in a team environment.

QualificationsEssentialCharacter and convictions

• Evidences a committed, authentic and tested faith in the risen Lord Jesus as our only saviour and hope.
• Loves the church as the gathered people of God and leads their family to do the same .
• Deep love for Jesus, and a strong commitment to seeing people live for the glory of God in all their lives.
• Strong commitment to seeing lives changed by the gospel via prayer and the word of God.

Ministry competencies

• Ability to think biblically and explain the gospel in a clear and Christ-centred way.
• Ability to encourage and stir people to know and treasure Jesus from the Bible in a clear and Christ-centred way.
• Strong and compelling song leader and solo musician (especially rhythm guitar) with ability to warmly engage large gatherings of people.
• Experienced band leader and experience in training musicians in instrument, preparation, and performance skills.
• Experience in production elements: lighting, staging, audio, visual, and online streaming.
• Ability to build procedures and systems that facilitate the effective operation of the Magnification Team.

Leadership competencies

• Proven ability in establishing, training and leading teams and their leaders.
• Ability to lead productive team meetings, training nights and rehearsals.
• Clear, humble and an engaging leadership style, calling people to make sacrifices for the cause of Christ.
• Excellence in professional skills such as clear written and verbal communication, time-management, organisation, and systems thinking.
• Willing to work alongside others in a team and under the Lead Pastor.
• Willing to commit to the vision and mission and join Vine Church.

Desirable

• Experience in a professional vocation and is a good cultural fit with the inner city and the people of Vine Church.
• Completed or currently undertaking higher education in theology and ministry.
• Experience in a similar role.
• Experience in an outcome driven ministry team.

Remuneration is provided in accordance with the Anglican Church of Sydney’s guidelines for stipend and allowances (including housing, travel, hospitality, books, computer, and conferences).
