  • Market Surveillance is a global function within Markets Risk that brings together all aspects of regulatory and financial crime risk management. We are a second line function who work together with the business and leverage advanced technology to help ANZ anticipate and navigate the forever changing regulatory environment.

  • The Surveillance Analyst will support the Market Surveillance team by applying ANZ’s policies and procedures to business related communications and escalating examples where a potential misconduct or breach of policy may have occurred. 

  • A primary focus of this role will be to assist ANZ to develop, implement and execute an effective monitoring framework for its compliance with CFTC external business conduct rules and, in particular, the provision of pre-trade mid-market marks.

 

This role is accountable for:

  • Developing an operating methodology to identify and review the provision of pre-trade mid-market marks (PTMM), in conjunction with both second and first line stakeholders

  • Reviewing and escalating communications between in-scope users and the external market to help detect incidences of potential non-compliance.

  • All potential cases are reviewed with care and diligence within specified timeframe to allow for full and thorough investigations.

  • Understanding ANZ’s Policies and Procedures relevant to the task above. Improved processing and management of cases being reviewed, through recommendation of improvements and further targeting of potential risk scenarios.

Role Type: Permanent, full time role 

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in the role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Minimum 2 years in Markets Surveillance role 
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to follow process and meet timeframes
  • Effective communication skills
  • Experience in Compliance, Governance or Financial Markets Product knowledge
  • Knowledge of trade execution methods and channels
  • Strong understanding of market misconduct and abuse issues.
  • Capability to combine independent working with mentoring junior staff
