Our Smart Transport and IoT team deliver and supports Transportation and IoT solutions for Enterprise and Government customers. This encompasses Public Transportation, Intelligent Transport Systems, IoT and In Vehicle Telemetry solutions along with professional services and support.
We are now seeking a Public Cloud Engineer to join our team. In this role you will support and provide technical direction as well as leadership to NEC’s Smart Transport team.
Your focus will be on delivery of fit for purpose, repeatable, cost effective, stable and scalable Public Cloud platforms with defined services, SLAs and performance metrics. This role will see you define, support and implement end to end cloud operation and delivery processes, leveraging automation wherever possible.
Professional Experience and Qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in a relevant Cloud position building and operating Public Cloud services.
- 3+ years’ experience hands on with a range of AWS services.
- A broad range of skills across IaaS, PaaS and Serverless technologies, with excellent knowledge and experience in Public Cloud Networking and Security in particular.
- Proven capability with IaC Tools such as AWS CloudFormation and Terraform. A working knowledge of DevOps is also highly desirable
- Ability to working independently and experience working in an outsourcing environment and customer support environment.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills and ability to lead effectively across organisational boundaries and drive discussions with senior personnel regarding trade-offs, best practices, project management and risk mitigation.
- Experience in Scrum and Agile development environments.

- Associate Certification in AWS
- Management of Devops infrastructure
- Professional or Speciality Certification in AWS (desirable)
