We have a very exciting and rare opportunity to join our in-house PR team as a Public Relations Manager!
About The Role.
As the Public Relations Manager, you will drive the PR strategies for some of Australia's leading attractions - including SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium, WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo, Madame Tussauds, and the newly launched Immersive Gamebox.
Reporting to the Head of Public Relations, ANZ, you will be a part of a world-class, high-achieving, and fast-paced PR team that works within a highly talented, fun, and energetic Marketing, Creative and Digital team. This is a great opportunity for an agency gun looking to make the move in-house or an experienced PR professional looking for an exciting new challenge.
You'll be responsible for driving the day-to-day PR activities that support the local and international market strategy for Merlin Entertainments' Sydney attractions across all channels, including print, broadcast, digital, and social media. This will range from animal and conservation stories, to pop culture, celebrity profiling and launch events. You will identify, develop, and build media and influencer relationships, driving consumer desire for the Merlin attractions within ANZ by creating new and exciting ways to use content to reach target consumers and keep the Merlin attractions relevant and top-of-mind.
You will be responsible for but not limited to:

• Executing the local Public Relations strategy aligned with the overall business goals
• Generating positive publicity through digital, social, editorial, and broadcast channels, influencers, and external media events
• Identifying new outlets and developing and fostering relationships with broadcast, digital, and print media
• Planning and executing brand activations, including developing event concepts and event production
• Creating local brand content with key publishers and content creators
• Reporting for press and events, including ongoing competitive analysis and benchmarking

About You.
For any of our roles, a passion for travel and tourism is essential. To shine in this role you will have …

• A minimum of five years' current experience in Public Relations - consumer /tourism experience is a plus!
• Tertiary qualification in Communications, Marketing, or Public Relations
• Experience delivering high-quality and tailored communications strategies to diverse audiences
• The ability to meet deadlines with high attention to detail and proven project management and organisational skills
• Direct experience with hands-on responsibilities, including reporting, collaborative strategic planning, and budget management
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
• A creative thinker with a problem-solving mindset
• An established network of media and industry contacts across news, travel and entertainment sectors - both locally and internationally
