They are the recognised leaders in the manufacture and installation of Glass-Fibre Reinforced Concrete in Australia. Due to continueed sucess they are now looking for a Purchasing Administrator to be based in the Western Suburbs.
Duties and Responsabilites
- Performing inventory inspections and reordering supplies and stock as necessary
- Inspecting stock and reporting any faulty items or inconsistencies immediately to suppliers and management
- Ensuring all stock is packaged appropriately and delivered to the correct location in a timely manner
- Preparing procurement and stock reports.
- Conducting product research and sourcing new suppliers and vendors Research, select and purchase quality products and materials
- Build relationships with suppliers and negotiate with them for the best pricing
- Reviewing existing contracts with suppliers and vendors to ensure on-going feasibility
- Contacting a range of suppliers and sub‐contractors to obtain quotations Assessing the reliability of suppliers
- Dealing effectively with challenges with suppliers and the flow of materials to minimise impact on the business
- Sourcing materials, goods, products, and services and negotiating the best or most costeffective contracts and deals
- Updating and maintaining records of all orders, payments, and received stock
- Coordinating with the delivery team and following up on delays or orders that have been rescheduled
- Ensure correct allocation of costs and material to projects
- Process requisitions and update management and project teams on status of orders
- Developing procurement strategies that are inventive and cost-effective
- Approving purchase orders and organizing and confirming delivery of goods and services
- Controlling the procurement budget and promoting a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs
- Overseeing and managing the IT systems that track shipments, inventory, and the supply of goods
- Providing advice to the project estimator on the predicted cost of individual items
- Liaising closely with the estimating and project teams at various stages to ensure that an accurate project cost is provided
- Preparing and maintaining cost reports in order to maximise efficiency within the business
- Keeping detailed records and maintaining well‐organised work schedules
Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, or a related field may be required
- 5 + years similar industry experience
- Good understanding of Pronto software system desired
- Knowledge, Skills, CPD, PDP- Proficient in project management suite of software (e.g., Microsoft professional suite, MS Project, Primavera), ERP systems (e.g., Pronto, SAP, Oracle e-business) and project management platforms (e.g., InEight, Aconex, Procore)
- Inventory management
- Knowledge and understanding of construction materials
- Numerical and budgeting abilities
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Great organizational and planning skills
- Ability to follow client specifications
- Excellent time management skills
- Critical thinking and negotiation skills
