Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Purchasing Lead to join their dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead a team of both centralised and remote purchasing officers and support staff, delivering timely and efficient purchasing of equipment, materials, supplies, and services across multiple business units. The successful candidate will demonstrate a broad-based knowledge of all aspects of the procure-to-pay process, optimising process efficiency using continuous improvement methodologies and tools.
What you'll do:
As a Purchasing Lead, you will be responsible for leading a dedicated team of purchasing officers and support staff. Your role will involve driving performance, developing your team, monitoring performance against benchmarks, identifying new suppliers, conducting supplier audits, resolving complaints and queries, collaborating with operations on demand planning, processing new contracts, and monitoring contract renewals. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth running of procurement initiatives within the organisation.
- Drive performance, culture and align with company strategy and governance standards
- Develop and improve team performance across the function to ensure optimal performance at lowest transactional cost
- Monitor, analyse and manage performance against agreed benchmarks utilising agreed KPI's and reporting mechanisms
- Lead and manage the gathering of market intelligence and identification of new suppliers
- Ensure key meetings and work procedures are properly documented and institutionalised
- Conduct audits of potential and current suppliers to guarantee an optimum supplier base
- Resolve complaints and queries, fostering trust relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure maximum business penetration of procurement initiatives
- Collaborate with operations and planning regularly on demand, bottlenecks, processing new contracts and monitoring contract renewals
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Purchasing Lead role brings significant experience in purchasing or procurement within an industrial services multi-site organisation. You have excellent planning skills coupled with strong interpersonal communication abilities. Your knowledge of the mining equipment industry will be beneficial in this role. - Significant experience in purchasing, procurement or contracts administration within an industrial services multi-site organisation
