About Us

The Role

The Purchasing Lead will play a leadership role within the Purchasing Team to facilitate compliance and value driven purchasing by aligning to procurement strategy and partnering with University stakeholders and Procurement. The Purchasing Lead is accountable for the governance and control on purchasing policy compliance / non compliance and any related reporting.

What you'll bring to this role

  • Demonstrated high level ability to provide leadership and supervision to a diverse range of staff in order to motivate, develop, empower and coach staff to excellence in work performance, client service and the achievement of University and work area outcomes.
  • Management skills to lead, manage and coordinate a sourcing function in a large and complex organisation.
  • Experience in process review, including scoping, redefining tasks and implementing change.
  • Track record in identifying, implementing, and evaluating purchasing improvement initiatives via technological, process and control enhancements.
  • Proficient in the use of purchasing systems, with previous experience in a system such as Workday highly regarded.
