Position Overview:
We’re recruiting for a motivated, reliable, and detail-oriented Purchasing Officer, for a 12-month fixed term contract covering parental leave. Prior experience in purchasing, procurement and supply chain is mandatory with experience within automotive or caravan industry being well regarded. The role is on site in our manufacturing facility in Coolum, applicants must have Australian working rights in place.
Responsibilities
- Place purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of goods and services to meet demand.
- Monitor inventory levels and track, expedite orders to ensure adequate stock levels.
- Processing of Ad-hoc, and Non-Inventory Requisitions to support other department requirements.
- Resolve any issues with suppliers regarding pricing, delivery, and quality.
- Report any discrepancies, e.g. delays within the schedule to the Purchasing Manager and assist with rectification.
- Liaise with the Suppliers and the Finance team regarding quotations, orders, deliveries, and invoice discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information.
- Ensure that the appropriate processes and information flows are utilised to maintain timely and accurate communication across the business.
- Provide Admin support to the Purchasing Team
- Coordinate data collection from suppliers and maintain information records.
- Assist with maintaining department SOP’s documents and department folders.
- Manage shared and individual email accounts.
Skills and Experience
- Qualifications in Procurement, Logistics and Supply Chain Management or Business Management desirable but not mandatory
- Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent time management skills – must be able to prioritise work effectively.
- Computer literate – Windows, Excel, and Word. Data entry skills
- Experience using ERP software (Fishbowl/Cin7) beneficial but not essential.
- Internal and external customer driven approach and attitude
- The ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment is essential.
