A fulltime opportunity exists for a Purchasing Officer at our Supply Solutions branch located in Girraween.
About the Role:
Reporting to and working with the Purchasing Manager, this role is responsible for all aspects of purchasing within the branch, including maintaining inventory levels, achieving KPI’s, and managing stock levels in addition to working with all departments within the Branch.
Your key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Generate and review purchase order requirements against demand and inventory policies
- Track production volume and monitor customer demand patterns / purchasing trends to produce optimal orders
- Proactively review inventory position against future demand requirements and mitigate out of stocks and SLOBS
- Manage the product requirements of new product developments to meet product and launch dates
- Manage inventory of deleted products to deletion date ensuring minimal to no write off
- Establish collaborative routines and cadences with supply partners to facilitate transparency, seasonal planning, strategic projects, NPD and deletions, and tactical performance reviews
- Report on supplier performance (Quality and Non-Conformance etc.)
- Report on current and future inventory positions, calling out risks where necessary
- Timely, proactive and effective communication with cross functional stakeholders
- Drive process improvements and efficiencies
- Ensure dry goods purchasing category is SOX compliant
About you:
- Previous experience in supply or material planning, purchasing, inventory management or related position within an FMCG environment or similar
- Knowledge of the manufacturing process and supply chain management
- Ability to analyse data, problem-solve, and make recommendations
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Good Microsoft Excel Skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage several projects simultaneously
- Ability to interface with all levels of management
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a greater team
- Good judgment and problem-solving ability
