The RoleWe are seeking a skilled Procurement Consultant to join our Government & Defence office in Melbourne. As a Procurement Consultant you will play a crucial role in optimising our supply chain operations. You will be responsible for managing customer orders and requirements to ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and services.
Your attention to detail, analytical skills and ability to collaborate with our customer will be key to your success in this role. The Procurement Consultant’s focus is to process removals and storage services end-to-end for Australian Defence Force members. You will play an important role in the company’s procurement functions, align the company with its business objectives, and navigate the complexities of the supply chain to achieve better outcomes.As the Procurement Consultant, you will:Make considered purchasing decision of providers/suppliers for removals and storage services, in line with existing contracts, purchasing arrangements and business objectives.
Process removals and storage services from receipt of move to delivery, this involves procuring the provider/supplier, processing the various move activities from pick-up times and dates to delivery times and dates, to moves into storage and out of storage, and liaising with the member’s case manager. Review quotes submitted by Provider panel for purchasing
Work as part of the team to achieve agreed deadlines and outcomes.Identify causes of service problems e.g. picking up/delivering late and facilitate and resolve with appropriate parties.Liaise with internal & external stakeholders regarding supplier requirements and issues.About you:To be successful in this role, you will need:Experience in a similar procurement role highly advantageous
Experience working within logistics industry desirable
Experience with working in a fast-paced and high-energy environment
Attention to detail and the ability to make financial decisions accurately
Ability to problem solve and think outside the square
Time planning and management skills
Advanced use of Microsoft Office suite of products
