As the Queensland Government's builder, QBuild plays an important role in communities across the state by building & maintaining government-owned assets such as schools, social housing, police stations & correctional & health facilities. Key responsibilities Communicating procurement strategies & Queensland Procurement Policy requirements to staff & facilitating changes to traditional procurement practices through training & education programs. Sourcing & correlating a range of data from both internal & external to QBuild, comparing data to other government agencies & industry standards, & producing a range of reports to present to the Procurement Manager, QBuild Executives & other stakeholders & clients. Preparing & calling of tenders for a variety of categories involving construction, maintenance, consulting & upgrade activities, including evaluation & regulatory techniques. Providing assistance to estimating staff in pricing future works. Implementing local procurement practices & processes in accordance with the Queensland Procurement Policy & contributing to reduced material & subcontractor costs. Establishing relationships with suppliers & subcontractors focusing on competitive pricing & meeting established performance standards. Maintaining awareness of industry procurement & estimating practices & striving to continuously improve the procurement & estimating function within the region. Liaising with suppliers & subcontractors to contribute to the development & implementation of regional Standing Offer Agreements & medium & major building contracts within regional areas Ordering materials & processing a range of purchase orders, work orders, field release orders for goods & services required for regional delivery. Ensuring compliance with the Queensland Procurement Policy, delegation & other polices & legislation relating to procurement in government. • Undertaking operational procurement activities including investigating problems & leading special projects as required. Providing guidance to field & operational staff in procurement & the associated policies. Developing & delivering procurement, purchasing & contract management training programs, ongoing skills frameworks, training materials & coordinating the presentation of training sessions. Developing, implementing & monitoring procurement instructions, procedures, guidelines & standard forms while maintaining document control (in conjunction with Quality Assurance). Demonstrating professionalism & being an enthusiastic contributor to QBuild' culture & a positive leader in a great team. Providing efficient & high standards of customer service to QBuild customers, including coordinating responses to escalated customer queries.
