Brunel has partnered with a leading international company specializing in renewable energy to recruit a skilled PV Design Engineer. This globally recognized leader in the solar energy sector focuses on developing, constructing, and managing large-scale solar farms and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). Their innovative approach and commitment to sustainability have positioned them as a key player in transforming the energy landscape.
- Spearhead the conceptual design of renewable projects, with a primary focus on PV solar projects and BESS.
- Manage the creation of project-specific deliverables such as SLD, PVsyst reports, general layouts, string designs, and equipment selections for optimal performance.
- Coordinate with third-party design firms to ensure timely and efficient advancement of engineering designs.
- Provide comprehensive engineering support across all project stages, including pre-feasibility, RFP tender, construction, and operations management.
- Support the procurement team by specifying technical requirements and ensuring all materials are compliant with design specifications.
- Handle the management of design revisions and version control on-site, including maintaining document registers, coordinating design information requirements for subcontractors, and liaising with third-party design teams.
- Collaborate closely with power grid companies and AEMO on connection issues and GPS modeling.
Project Highlight:
The first major initiative you will be involved in is a 21MW solar farm based in New Zealand, necessitating travel to the site approximately twice a month.
This opprotunity could be based in any of the eastern states.Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with at least 3 years of experience in utility-scale solar farm projects and EPC work.
- Proven expertise in commissioning solar farms and BESS, with strong project management skills.
- Ability to thrive in an international, multicultural environment.
- Knowledgeable in the relevant codes, standards, and regulations in Australia and New Zealand.
- High commitment to safety, excellent communication skills, and meticulous attention to detail.
- Willingness to travel extensively to project sites, both domestically and internationally.
- Possession of an Australian Driver’s License.
