We are constantly pushing the limits of our technology to enable communities such as Valencia in Spain, Bad Hersfeld in Germany and Queensland in Australia to better manage their assets, reduce their expenditure and preserve their identity and their environment.Job DescriptionThe QA Technician will report to the Quality Manager in the quality department. To succeed in this role; you will need to be hands-on, with an eye for detail, solve problems, perform inspections, assess and provide disposition on inward goods, outgoing goods and returned goods.Responsibilities:

• Inspect goods coming from suppliers and provide inspection reports
• Release conforming goods and quarantine non-conforming goods
• Inspect in-house manufactured goods and provide inspection reports
• Inspect and analyse rejected components used in-house manufacturing and provide defective reports
• Book in returned goods from customers and provide goods return confirmation reports
• Inspect and analyse returned goods and provide fault analysis report
• Liaise with Production, Warehouse, Purchasing, Engineering, Aftersales, and Suppliers on corrective/preventive actions for disposition of quarantine goods, rejected components and returned goods
• Perform minor rework and repair of returned products
• Complete and maintain all necessary paperwork, reports and documents in a timely manner
• Build and repair electrical test equipment for use in production and inspection
• Ensure that all products comply with the relevant safety and quality standards and specifications
• Address issues and provide supplier and internal corrective action reports
• Performs all assignments or duties as requested by Quality Manager
• Deploy QA system, policies and procedures and recommend improvements for procedures and processes

Qualifications

• Higher School Certificate, Electrical or Mechanical trade qualifications or higher
• 1-2 years’ experience as a quality inspector or product tester in an electrical manufacturing industry
• High level of computer literacy (Word, Excel and ERP/MRP)

Skills:

• Able to read drawings and wiring diagrams
• Understand material and product quality
• Able to write technical reports
• Experience working within a production environment
• Basic knowledge of Quality tools, concepts and methodologies
• Knowledge of lighting products and systems
• Ability to lift loads up to 20kg on occasion
• Be self-motivated, able to work independently and multi-task in a timely manner
• Strong relationship building skills
• Understand ISO 9001 quality management system
