Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced QA Welding Inspector to join our team on a 2:2 roster. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring that all welding activities meet project specifications and quality standards. Key responsibilities include:
- Working in accordance with project management systems.
- Generating and maintaining required documentation and records.
- Providing input to project quality management reports.
- Liaising with inter-functional departments, project personnel, contractors, and subcontractors.
- Conducting specific quality surveillance activities as stipulated within the client project scope to support audit and review activities.
- Ensuring contractors and subcontractors adhere to approved project procedures and specifications/data sheets.
Skills and Experience:
- Considerable experience (5+ years) in a Quality inspection role with organizational-wide responsibilities.
- Knowledge and expertise in Quality practices, standards, systems, and processes relevant to construction operations.
- Demonstrated competence in reading and understanding contract and shop drawings, material compliance certificates, welding and coating inspection reports, calibration reports, including assessing compliance with specification criteria.
- Proficiency in quality systems, policies, and procedures.
- Computer literacy, including Excel and quality reporting.
- Knowledge and understanding of NDT and reporting requirements.
- Strong industrial experience in welding inspection.
- In-depth understanding of relevant ISO Standards, Lloyds Register & DNVGL rules.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to maintaining a high-level safety culture.
- Excellent verbal and analytical skills.
- Sound knowledge of occupational health and safety requirements.
Qualifications:
- Minimum CSWIP 3.1 or 3.2, AWS, WTIA, or AICIP certification.
- Degree, trade, or certificate in a related discipline and experience working within applicable codes for piping and pressure vessel construction and certification.
