The Industrial Services division focuses on the provision of industrial painting and blasting services.
As a result of the company's continued growth, an excellent opportunity has become available for suitably qualified and experienced QC/ Welding Inspector to join our Henderson team.
About the Role
Reporting to the Project Coordinator, your primary responsibility will be to ensure that welded components comply with codes and client specifications and that the documentation required demonstrating compliance by Orontide is in place and adhered to.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Welding QA inspection, auditing and documentation
- Provide technical expertise and advice related to the business
- Conduct surveillance activities on Welding and fabrication work and prepare reports in accordance with customer expectations and inspection and test plans, field inspection check sheets, other related documentation and contract requirements
- Perform dimensional inspections on products and welded fabrications to ensure compliance with the relevant codes, standards, customer specifications and detail drawings
- Review and maintain ITPs and other QA control documents
- Provide a high level of quality customer service by meeting agreed commitments on time
- Ensure current welding code requirements are maintained, to advise fabrication employees of any changes, and to provide associated training where deemed necessary.
- To maintain a quality assurance program compliant with AS/NZS 3834.
- Ensure Safety, Environmental and Quality compliance.
- To produce Manufacturer's Data Reports (MDR's) and other supporting materials as required.
To be successful for this position, you must possess the following:
- Ideally the candidate will have a minimum of 2 years Welding Inspectors Certification to CSWIP 3.1;
- Knowledge and understanding of NDT and reporting requirements
- In-depth knowledge and experience in the welding and fabrication industry within Marine industry
- Strong industrial experience in inspection of welding;
- Strong and in-depth understanding of relevant ISO Standards, Lloyds Register & DNVGL rules is essential;
- Welding supervision experience preferred;
- Strong communication skills
- Willingness to travel away including interstate when required;
- Ability to work as a team and independently;
- Ability to maintain a high level safety culture.
- Sound computer skills for reporting and recording documentation
- Excellent verbal and analytical skills
- Sound knowledge of occupational health and safety requirements
